Raphael Assuncao vs Rob Font added to UFC 226 in Las Vegas

A bantamweight bout has been added to UFC 226 in Las Vegas as Raphael Assuncao vs Rob Font has been added to the event.

UFC 226 will be held on July 7, 2018, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal announced the news.

Following a unanimous decision loss against TJ Dillashaw at UFC 2oo, Assuncao has won three straight. Back-to-back split decision wins over Aljamain Sterling at UFC on FOX 23 and Marlon Moraes at UFC 212 were followed most recently by a TKO win over Matthew Lopez at UFC Fight Night 120.

Font is currently 3-1 in his last four UFC contests. Back-to-back wins over Matt Schnell at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale and Douglas Andrade at UFC 213 were followed by a submission loss to Pedro Munhoz at UFC Fight Night 119. In his last bout, however, Font rebounded with a big second-round TKO win over Thomas Almeida UFC 220.
