Fightstar returns to the Fountain Leisure Centre in Brentford, London this weekend for their twelfth event. The card features seventeen fights, headlined by a professional lightweight title bout with an international flavour. Fightstar head honcho Raj Singh has brought unbeaten Icelandic prospect Thor Palsson (3-0) over to face Roger Gracie alumni Qamar Hussain (6-2) .

As always, the Fightstar team have lined up some intriguing bouts, with the curtain jerker for the main card looking particularly tasty; the FSC Amateur Flyweight Title. Earlier this year Joe Harding made global headlines for all the wrong reasons. The young Essex based athlete was showboating in a BCMMA bout against Johan Segas, a bout that he was clearly winning, resulting in a heavy KO defeat. Don’t let the GIFs fool you though, this young man has talent by the bucket load and brings a fast, dynamic and powerful striking game to the cage, a style that gave him a win in less than ten seconds in his comeback fight. He faces Revolution’s Kingsley Crawford. Revolution, headed up by Steven O’Keeffe, is one of the best up-and-coming gyms in the south. Boasting stars like Kingsley’s namesake and BAMMA’s featherweight world champion, Daniel Crawford (no relation) within their ranks, the level of training Kingsley Crawford benefits from cannot be underestimated. Crawford himself is coming off of back to back losses for the first time in his young career, having last suffered a demoralising unanimous decision defeat against Aiden James on WFS 7 in March. He will undoubtedly be desperate to get back to winning ways and reestablish himself as one of the top amateur featherweights in the UK.

Another name to keep an eye on is Jake Hadley. The UTC youngster is making his professional debut after a successful amateur career (7-2). This submission specialist is hyper aggressive and has unbreakable confidence to boot. This kid has all of the raw material needed to translate that amateur success into his professional career, starting with Saturday’s bout against the durable and heavy handed Reece Street.
