Petr Yan vacates ACB title, set to sign with UFC

It looks like the UFC will be adding a new bantamweight prospect to its ranks as the promotion is set to sign ACB bantamweight champion Petr Yan.

Yan is set to vacate his bantamweight title with the Russian promotion per Denis Geyko.

Yan first fought for the ACB bantamweight title against Magomed Magomedov at Absolute Championship Berkut 32, however, he lost a razor-thin split decision in a ‘Fight of the Year’ candidate.

Following the loss, Yan rebounded with a dominant unanimous decision over  Ed Arthur at Absolute Championship Berkut 41.

He was then scheduled to rematch with Magomed Magomedov at ACB 48, however, Magomedov pulled out of the bout with an injury and the bout was re-booked for ACB 57 where Yan earned a unanimous decision win to win the ACB gold.

In his most recent bout, Yan earned a third-round KO win over Matheus Mattos at ACB 71.

Since his debut over 3 years ago, Yan has amassed an impressive 8-1 record which includes four finishes.
