Aaron Chalmers taking BAMMA to court over contract dispute

Reality TV show star Aaron Chalmers who appears on MTV show Geordie Shore is taking BAMMA to court over a contract dispute with the promotion.

During an interview with the Sun, Chalmers revealed that BAMMA agreed to release him, however, had not done so, so Chalmers solicitor is taking the promotion to court over the matter.

‘I have left BAMMA, a few things went on, they said they would release me but they haven’t so my solicitor is sorting it out through the courts. It’s a legal issue which is a nightmare but it will not affect my Bellator show. I am focused on the fight and the camp’ Chalmers said.

The Geordie fighter has gone 3-0 in his professional career all under the BAMMA banner. A first-round submission win over Greg Jenkins at BAMMA 29 was followed by back-to-back first-round KO wins over Alex Thompson at BAMMA 31 and Karl Donaldson at BAMMA 33 last time out.

Earlier this month BAMMA released a statement stating the following

‘BAMMA has given Aaron ‘The Joker’ Chalmers a conditional one fight release to appear on their promotional partner’s momentous event.’

He is currently scheduled to face Ashley Griffiths at Bellator 200 on May 25th, 2018.

MMAMad reached out to BAMMA for comment, however, did not receive a response at the time of writing.
