Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Rose Namajunas title bout added to UFC 217 in New York

Another title bout is heading to New York.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend her UFC strawweight title against Rose Namajunas at UFC 217 the UFC has announced following an initial report from MMAToday around a month a go.

UFC 217: Bisping vs. St-Pierre will be held on November 4, 2017, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.

After winning the UFC strawweight title against Carla Esparza at UFC 185, Jedrzejczyk has defended her title five times. A TKO win over Jessica Penne has been followed by four unanimous decision wins over Valérie Létourneau, Cláudia Gadelha, Karolina Kowalkiewicz and most recently Jéssica Andrade.

Following a razor close split decision loss to Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 201, Namajunas impressed in her last outing, finished Michelle Waterson with a rear-naked choke in the second round at UFC on FOX 24.
