Donald Cerrone vs. Robbie Lawler rebooked for UFC 214 following Cerrone injury

The bout that was cancelled from UFC 213 earlier this week has now been rebooked for UFC 214.

Donald Cerrone, who pulled out of his UFC 213 bout with former champion Robbie Lawler has now been rebooked on the UFC 214 fight card against the same opponent.

Lance Pugmire of the LA Times announced the booking.

UFC 214 will be held on on July 29, 2017, at Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

A Light Heavyweight Championship bout between current champion Daniel Cormier and former champion Jon Jones will feature as the headline bout of this event.

Following two title defences over Rory MacDonald at UFC 189 and Carlos Condit at UFC 195, Lawler dropped the title to Tyron Woodley at UFC 201 in Atlanta. The loss snapped a five-fight winning streak for the former champion.

Cerrone is also coming off a loss, which snapped a four-fight winning streak of his own since moving to welterweight. A second round TKO loss to Jorge Masvidal at UFC on Fox: Shevchenko vs. Peña was Cerrone’s first loss at 170lbs.
