A welterweight bout has been added to the UFC 215 fight card as Mike Perry will meet Thiago Alves.
Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com announced the bout.
The UFC has not officially announced the fight card, however, Helwani stated that sources say Seattle is currently the top candidate to host the event.
Following back-to-back wins over Danny Roberts and Hyun Gyu Lim in his first two UFC contests, Perry suffered the first loss of his MMA career, dropping a unanimous decision to Alan Jouban at UFC on Fox: VanZant vs. Waterson. Following the loss, Perry rebounded with a brutal KO win over Jake Ellenberger at Jake Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Lobov to earn a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus for his efforts.
With a loss to Carlos Condit at UFC Fight Night 67, Alves attempted to drop down a weight class from welterweight to lightweight. Alves massively missed weight for his 155lb contest with Jim Miller at UFC 205 and also lost the bout via unanimous decision. With the loss, Alves returned to 170lbs for his most recent contest, earning a unanimous decision win over Patrick Côté at UFC 210.
