An interim middleweight title fight has been added to the upcoming UFC 213 fight card in Las Vegas as Yoel Romero meets Robert Whittaker for the strap.
UFC 213 will be held on July 8, 2017, at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.

Whittaker who is riding a seven-fight winning streak is coming off the biggest win of his career. The New Zealander took on Ronaldo Souza at UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Reis with many pundits expecting ‘Jacare; to come out with the victory, however, Whittaker has different plans, earning a first-round knockout win and a ‘Performance of the night’ bonus.
Romero, who is riding an eight-fight winning streak of his own is coming off a third-round TKO win over former champion Chris Weidman at UFC 205 in New York. ‘The Soldier of God’ also earned a ‘Performance of the Night’ for his victory.
