Jimmie Rivera vs. Thomas Almeida added to UFC on FOX 25 in Long Island

A bantamweight contest between Jimmie Rivera and Thomas Almeida has been added to the upcoming UFC on FOX 25 fight card.

UFC on Fox 25 will be held on July 22, 2017, at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

The event will be the first that the UFC has hosted in the Long Island area of New York.

Newsday announced the bout.

Rivera (20-1 MMA) is currently on a four-fight unbeaten streak in the UFC and a 19-fight winning run in his career. In his last bout, Rivera earned the biggest win of his career, earning a unanimous decision win over Urijah Faber at UFC 203 in Cleveland.

Almeida (22-1 MMA) went 4-0 in the UFC before dropping his first career loss to now UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt at UFC Fight Night 88 in Las Vegas. Following the loss, Almeida rebounded by earning a second round TKO over Albert Morales at UFC Fight Night: Bader vs. Nogueira 2.
