Reports of Tyron Woodley vs. Conor McGregor next are ‘absolutely not true’

Reports were swirling around the MMA world yesterday that Conor McGregor had his next fight officially lined up against UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

The rumours started when Conor McGregor suggested that his next fight will be announced: “very soon”.

Just hours later, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley informed his Instagram followers that he was preparing to start training camp ahead of his next fight.

With the two being posted so close together, people started to wonder whether Conor McGregor would be going for his third UFC belt in a welterweight title fight against Woodley.

However, last night on the MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani stated that:

“There is some talk online that Tyron Woodley is fighting Conor McGregor in July. I’ve been told that’s absolutely not true, that there is no fight on the table.”

Conor McGregor is still currently in discussions with multiple time world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather for a super fight between the two in Las Vegas.

Stay tuned to MMA Mad for the next Conor McGregor fight announcement which should be coming shortly.
