Reports were swirling around the MMA world yesterday that Conor McGregor had his next fight officially lined up against UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
The rumours started when Conor McGregor suggested that his next fight will be announced: “very soon”.

Just hours later, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley informed his Instagram followers that he was preparing to start training camp ahead of his next fight.
#TRAININGCAMP Starts #Today The next time I set foot in the #Octagon it will be 4 Title Fights in 12months. Starting with the Spirit, Mind, Soul and the Body will catch up. The fight outside the Cage has always proven to be tougher then the one inside. Time to win on both ends! @ufc #ufc #ChampCamp #AndStill #WhoGotMyBack !
With the two being posted so close together, people started to wonder whether Conor McGregor would be going for his third UFC belt in a welterweight title fight against Woodley.
However, last night on the MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani stated that:
“There is some talk online that Tyron Woodley is fighting Conor McGregor in July. I’ve been told that’s absolutely not true, that there is no fight on the table.”
