Before Kris Moutinho tries to improve to 4-0 at CES 42 on March 31 at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I., the undefeated New England prospect checked in with MMA Mad.
Q: How did you find MMA to begin with?
A: UFC vet Jorge Rivera opened a gym in my hometown. I was wrestling for a while but needed something to do. I gave it a try and I fell in love.
Q: Where do you think you would be without MMA?
A: I don’t know, man. I would be a completely different person if it wasn’t for MMA. I don’t know exactly what I would be doing, but this sport has completely changed my life in very positive ways. Without this sport, I would be nothing.
Q: Are you at all surprised by the success you’ve found in MMA so far?
A: No. I’ve been around great people my entire career and I’ve worked hard. I’m not surprised, and I expect more success in the future.
Q: What can fans expect at CES 42?
A: A finish. Just like I’ve said in my other interviews, I’m going to finish him standing up or take him out on the ground. I don’t know how it’s going to happen, but I’m going for the finish.
Q: Who do you want to fight after this?
A: I’ve tried that in the past but nobody ever answers. It doesn’t matter. Whoever they give me that’s going to get me closer to that CES belt. That’s what I’m after right now, whether it’s at 125, 135 or even 145.
