Another world title fight has been added to UFC’s return to Dallas as Joanna Jędrzejczyk will look to defend her UFC strawweight title against Jessica Andrade.
UFC 211 will be held on May 13, 2017 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
Sport Poland announced the bout.
The event will be the fourth that the UFC has hosted in Dallas, following UFC 185 in March 2015, UFC 171 in March 2014, and UFC 103 in September 2009.
A UFC Heavyweight Championship bout between current champion Stipe Miocic and former champion Junior dos Santos will feature as the main event. The pairing met previously in December of 2014 at UFC on Fox: dos Santos vs. Miocic, with dos Santos winning by a close unanimous decision.
Jędrzejczyk (13-0) has defended her UFC title four times since earning the strap against Carla Esparza at UFC 185. A TKO win over Jessica Penne has been followed by three straight unanimous decision wins over Valérie Létourneau, Cláudia Gadelha and most recently Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
Since making her strawweight debut at UFC 199, Andrade (16-5) has earned three straight wins. A TKO win over Jessica Pennewas followed by a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus submission win over Joanne Calderwood at UFC 203. Most recently, Andrade defeated Angela Hill via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night: Bermudez vs. Korean Zombie earning ‘Fight of the Night’ honours.
