Before Edward “The Ninja” Massey headlines Valor Fights 40 against Zac Cooper on February 11 in Nashville, live on FloCombat, the hot Tennessee prospect sat down with MMA Mad.
Q: When you began training, what were your goals?
A: My goal was always to make it to the top. Now that’s changed a bit with my new mindset. My mindset now is to show the world what the human body can do when it’s reaching its full potential.
Q: Is MMA a career or a passion for you — or is it both?
A: It’s definitely both. It’s a passion, but I’ve also made it my career.
Q: How do you feel about what you’ve accomplished so far?
A: Even with what I’ve done so far, I haven’t accomplished what I want to accomplish. Right now I’m satisfied — I’ve come a long way from where I started — but I’m definitely ambitious for the future. I’m satisfied, but not fully.
Q: How excited are you to be back in action at Valor Fights 40?
A: I’m very excited for next weekend. Now that I’m in the main event, this is an even bigger opportunity to get on the big stage and show what I can do. I’m pretty excited.
Q: What will a win at Valor Fights 40 mean for your career?
A: This win will make me undefeated at 4-0 and help to show those around me what is possible with a positive mindset, and it will bring me that much closer to my main goal of competing at the highest level of the sport.
