Two of New England’s favourite heavyweights are preparing for battle at CES MMA 41.
Under the bright lights at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I., West Yarmouth submission specialist Juliano “Banana” Coutinho will meet brawler Keith Bell on January 27.
An aggressive Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, Coutinho enters the CES MMA cage for the third time. Although he’s so far unbeaten at Twin River Casino, he’s looking forward to turning the page on his last performance, a three-round victory in March, when he’s back in action in January.
“I’m just excited to get back in the cage and fight again, man. I’m not satisfied with my last fight in Rhode Island. I suffered an injury early on and couldn’t do what I always want to do, which is finish the fight,” said Coutinho, a proud owner of five finish victories.” I’ve got nothing but respect for Keith Bell, but I’m hungry to make a statement in January and kick off 2017 with a bang.”
Like “Banana,” Bell is making his third appearance in the CES MMA cage. And, like his ambitious opponent, the North Carolina product plans on turning a few heads when the action starts at CES MMA 41 in Lincoln on January 27.
“He’s got phenomenal BJJ, but he won’t want to stand and bang with me,” said Bell, who previously battled Greg Rebello and John Johnston in Rhode Island. “I never doubt myself, but I’m trying to keep this fight standing, and to give everyone a knockout to talk about.”
