A welterweight bout has been added to the UFC’s second PPV card in the State of New York as Roan Carneiro and Ryan LaFlare has been added to UFC 208.
UFC 208 will be held on February 11, 2017, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The event was originally scheduled to take place on January 21 at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. However, due to a lack of suitable headliners for the date, the event in Anaheim was postponed to August 5 and an originally scheduled UFC 209 to be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on February 11 was renamed as UFC 208. This will be the first UFC event held in Brooklyn and the fourth overall hosted in the state of New York.
LaFlare currently has a record of 5-1 in the UFC with his only loss coming to Demian Maia at UFC Fight Night 62 by unanimous decision. Following the loss, LaFlare rebounded nicely by earning a unanimous decision over Mike Pierce at The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber Finale.
Carneiro is currently on his second run in the UFC after being cut in 2008 after a split decision loss to Ryo Chonan. Since his return, Carneiro holds wins over Mark Munoz and Kenny Robertson
With this announcement, UFC 208 now looks like this:
Glover Teixeira vs. Jared Cannonier
Islam Makhachev vs. TBA
Roan Carneiro vs. Ryan LaFlare
