Daniel Cormier injured; title bout with Anthony Johnson at UFC 206 is off

UFC 206 has taken a massive blow.

The UFC’s return to Canada has been hit with criticism as fans have called out the promotion for the lack of depth on the card. Well, now things have got worse.

Light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has been forced to withdraw from his title fight against Anthony Johnson due to an injury. Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting reported the news.  The promotion is currently working on a new headliner.

UFC 206 will be held on December 10, 2016 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

On Monday, UFC 206 lost Tim Kennedy vs. Rashad Evans after the Ontario Athletic Commission refused to license Evans.

The current co-main event is a featherweight bout between Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis which may be bumped to the main event but the UFC are hopeful of keeping Anthony Johnson on the card.
