Following his historic win less than two weeks ago at UFC 205, where Conor McGregor become the first UFC fighter to hold two belts simultaneously, there has been a lot of talk about who McGregor would fight next.
At the post-fight press conference following the event, McGregor announced that his long-time girlfriend Dee Devlin was pregnant and that he would take some time off, likely to return in May.
However, news still circulates about a super fight between the two-time UFC champion and former boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather.
However, what if McGregor’s next appearance would not be in MMA or boxing but in Sports Entertainment?
According to his agent, Audie Attar (via ESPN), it’s something McGregor is willing to entertain — as long as the money is right.
“I think it’s all about business, man,” Attar said. “If [WWE] is going to come with an offer, we are willing to entertain it. We are here. Have their people call his people — which is me. We can have a conversation.”
In attendance at UFC 205 was WWE executive Triple H who has some complimentary words for the Irishman via the Daily Telegraph.
“He could come over, he’s got it all, man,” Triple H said. “He’s got the personality, the skills, the talk. He’s an entertainer, for sure.”
Attar said McGregor has not had direct talks with WWE or Triple H as of yet, at UFC 205 or elsewhere.
“I think it’s phenomenal that a guy like Triple H was at the fights,” Attar said. “I heard he said some positive things, which is always good to hear.”
What would it take for McGregor to appear at a WWE event and compete? Well that’s easy:
“Again, I think ultimately Conor will say, ‘Let me talk to my friend Benjamin [Franklin] to see how many of his friends he’s bringing with him before we talk about what the obligations are,'” Attar said.
