But New Yorker Michael Karam, a former amateur MMA state champ, is hungry to ruin Moutinho’s holiday.

A winner of three amateur championships in three separate weight classes, Moutinho is only looking ahead in his blossoming career.
“There’s no way Michael is going to stand in my way of progressing in my career. There’s no way. Every day when I have to work, I’m just wishing I could be training,” said Moutinho, a 24-year-old Milford, Mass., product. “Anyone who stands in my way is getting smashed.”
Bring it on, countered Karam, who’s known as “The Beast From the Middle East” by his Big Apple fight fans.
“I’m going to test Kris’ stand-up, because I don’t think he’s a power puncher, and I’ve got knockout power in both hands,” said the debuting CES MMA fighter. “I’m sharp everywhere, I can finish this fight anywhere. I can’t wait to get in the cage to show everyone what I’ve been working on, and get this win.”
