Thanksgiving Eve just got even sweeter, with heavy-handed knockout artist Greg Rebello taking on UFC vet Josh Hendricks at CES MMA 40 on November 23 at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I.
After falling short in his long-awaited CES MMA Heavyweight Championship fight this summer, Rebello is eager to get back in the hunt for gold as he enters the CES MMA cage for the 13th time.
“I got caught in my title fight; it happens all the time in this sport. But I’ve been hungry to get back in the cage since that night,” said Rebello, who had previously knocked out three straight opponents in the CES MMA cage. “Losing sucks. But that was one of my best fights up until I got caught, and I’ve been really excited to build on that performance since August.”
Hendricks, meanwhile, is returning to the CES MMA cage for the third time. His most recent outing was against John Johnston for the Heavyweight Title.
With 30 fights under his belt, Hendricks wants another title shot before hanging up his four-ounce gloves for good.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for Greg, but I’m coming to take him out,” said Hendricks, who has 17 stoppage victories on his record. “He’s a game opponent and someone who has accomplished a lot in the sport, absolutely, but he’s standing in my way. And if you’re standing in my way, I’m going to try to take you out as violently and as dominantly as possible. I can’t wait.”
