Chael Sonnen vs. Tito Ortiz official for Bellator 170 headliner

Chael Sonnen (28-14-1 MMA) will officially square off against Tito Ortiz (18-12-1 MMA) in his Bellator debut at Bellator 170. Brett Okamoto of ESPN announced the bout.

Bellator 170 takes place on January 21st at Great Wester Forum in Inglewood, Calif.

Sonnen, who retired from MMA following his ban for a failed drug test in the lead up to his fight with Vitor Belfort following a coaching stint on the Ultimate Fighter against long-time rival Wanderlei Silva.

Ortiz is coming of a Bellator light heavyweight title shot against chammpion Liam McGeary where the ‘Huntington Beach Badboy’ lost via first round submission. Prior to the loss, Ortiz had won two straight against Alexander Shlemenko and Stefan Bonnar.
