Following the biggest win of his career, the FCC lightweight champion Charlie Leary already knows what he wants next.
Last night at Event City in Manchester, Charlie Leary made his first title defence at FCC 17 by defeating Bellator and BAMMA veteran Rob Sinclair via unanimous decision.
In his post-fight interview with Severe MMA, Leary stated that he feels he has jumped the queue in the UK MMA lightweight rankings:
“I think I have just leapfrogged a lot of the guys that I have spoken about [fighting] before. I am telling you, I am looking at Saul Rogers, who I think is top of the pile. I am looking at Stapleton, Loughnane and Fishgold, they are all right up there.”
“Give me Saul Rogers on ACB, BAMMA, give me Stapleton”
Leary then went on to suggest a mouthwatering idea for the next Cage Warriors show.
“I will jump along side Loughnane, he takes Paddy [Pimblett] and I will take Fishgold any day of the week. Let’s do that. I am up for it. I want the best of the best. I am pushing for the big titles in the big arenas, I want it all and I am coming for it.
