The former women’s bantamweight champion and one of the UFC’s biggest stars Ronda Rousey may soon be making a comeback.
According to FOX Sports, Rousey has been offered a bout with current champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.
UFC 207 takes place on December 30, 2016, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Fox Sports also stated that the fight has only been offered but no bout agreements have been issued and negotiations are ongoing.
Nunes posted on her Instagram account that she should have some fight news coming shortly for her first title defence.
Nunes (13-4 MMA) won the UFC women’s bantamweight title at UFC 200 where she demolished then-champion Miesha Tate in the first round via submission following heavy strikes.
Rousey has been out of action since November 2015, when she lost the bantamweight title via head-kick knockout to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Australia.
UFC President Dana White spoke with Globo during the weekend and stated that Rousey’s return could happen very soon.
“Yes, there’s a big chance that Ronda Rousey will fight Amanda Nunes and I’m very confident that Ronda will probably fight before the end of the year,” White said.
No official announcement has been made from the UFC yet however. Stay tuned to MMA Mad for more updates.
