Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz title fight set for UFC 205

An all Polish affair will take place in New York as Joanna Jedrzejczyk will look to defend her UFC strawweight title against fellow native Karolina Kowalkiewicz. The bout was announced by FloCombat.

UFC 205 will be held on November 12, 2016, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York.

Jedrzejczyk (12-0) and Kowalkiewicz (10-0) are both unbeaten as professionals.

Jedrzejczyk has now defended her title three times under the bright lights of the octagon. Following winning the title in April 2015 against Carla Esparza at UFC 185, Jedrzejczyk TKO’d Jessica Penne at UFC Fight Night: Jędrzejczyk vs. Penne, earned a unanimous decision over Valérie Létourneauhas at uFC 193 and most recently she defeated her longtime rival Claudia Gadelha via unanimous decision at The Ultimate Fighter 23: Team Joanna vs. Team Claudia finale.

Kowalkiewicz, the former KSW flyweight champion defeated Randa Markos in her UFC debut via unanimous decsion and then went on to earn another unanimous  decision against Heather Jo Clark Decision at UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Arlovski. In her last bout, Kowalkiewicz put in her most impressive performance to date, earning a split decision win over top contender and former title challenger Rose Namajunas.
