CES MMA 38: Full Fight Card and Video Preview


CES returns this week for CES 38 which takes place on September 23 at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn. The main card will air live on AXS TV.

The main event see’s a pair of UFC vets facing off as Sean Soriano takes on Levan Makashvili.

After an 8-0 start to his career, Soriano signed with the UFC but dropped all three of his fights with the promotion. Following his release the Blackzillians fighter won a via  first-round knockout of Josh Quayhagen at Legacy FC 48 before dropping a third-round TKO by Thomas Webb in March at Legacy FC 52.

Makashvili went 1-1-1 during his three fights in the UFC. After a split-decision win over Mark Eddiva in May 2015 in his promotional debut, he dropped a split decision to Hacran Dias at UFC Fight Night 70. After a majority draw with Damon Jackson in January, he was let go by the UFC. Following his release,Makashvili was signed by CES and fought at CES 36, where he earned a unanimous decision against Ryan Sanders.

The co-main event features a featherweight bout between Calvin Kattar and Chris Foster.

Also featured on the main card is heavyweight bout between Pat Walsh (8-2) vs. Carlos Zevallos (3-3), Rico DiSciullo (6-0, 1NC) vs. David Garcia (2-2-1), Kody Nordby (6-4) vs. Branden Seyler (6-3-1) and Carlos Candelario (4-0) vs. Brandon Warne (1-1).
