Globo is reporting that a middleweight bout between former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort and top-ranked Gegard Mousasi is set for UFC 204.
UFC 204 is yet to be officially announced by the promotion, however rumours are that the event will take place in Manchester, England and will be headlined by a UFC middleweight title bout between current champion Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson.
Belfort (25-12-1 MMA) faced Dan Henderson in a rubber match at UFC Fight Night 77 on November 7, 2015. He again defeated Henderson via a combination of head kick and punches. The win also earned Belfort his first Performance of the Night bonus award. In his most previous bout, Belfort faced Jacare Souza on May 14, 2016, at UFC 198. He lost the fight via TKO in the first round.
Mousasi (39-6-2) was briefly linked to a fight with Michael Bisping on February 27, 2016 at UFC Fight Night 84, however, on December 24, 2015, Bisping was pulled from the bout infavourr of a matchup with Anderson Silva at the same event. Mousasi instead faced Thales Leites and won the fight via unanimous decision. In his most recent bout, Mousasi was expected to face Derek Brunson at July 9, at UFC 200. It was later revealed that Brunson was forced to pull out of the fight, and was replaced by Thiago Santos. Mousasi won the fight via TKO in the first round and was awarded a Performance of the Night bonus.
