Chris Wade heads to Hidalgo, Texas to face Islam Makhachev


New Yorker Chris Wade is heading to Texas for his next bout as he is set to take on Islam Makhachev at UFC Fight Night 94. Newsday reported the news.

UFC Fight Night 94 will be held on September 17, 2016 at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. A lightweight bout between Dustin Poirier and Michael Johnson is expected to serve as event headliner.

Wade (11-2 MMA) suffered his first ever UFC loss in five bouts last time out. Following wins over Mehdi Baghdad, Christos Giagos, Lipeng Zhang and Cain Carrizosa, Wade lost a unaninmous decision to Rustam Khabilov at UFC Fight Night 87 – Overeem vs. Arlovski earlier this year.

Makhachev (9-1 MMA) also suffered his first UFC loss last time out via TKO to Adriano Martins at UFC 192 – Cormier vs. Gustafsson. Prior to the loss, Makhachev was succesful in his UFC debut defeating Leo Kuntz via submission at UFC 187.
