UFC 202 will be held on August 20, 2016, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
McCarthy, who is widely regarded as one of the best referees in the business, has only every taken charge of one McGregor and one Diaz bout in his long career. ‘Big John’ was the third man in the cage for Nate Diaz’ unanimous decision loss to Rory MacDonald at UFC 129 and was also in charge of McGregor’s UFC 194 13-second KO win over Jose Aldo.
