Donald Cerrone issues public apology following gay slur at Q&A

Donald Cerrone

At a Q&A at the UFC Fan Expo today in Las Vegas, Donald Cerrone stated that Daniel Cormier fought like a ‘fag’ in his UFC 200 main card bout at UFC 200 against Anderson Silva.

UFC 200 was held on July 9, 2016, at the T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada.

Cormier who took Silva down with ease on multiple occasions used his wrestling to nullify the stand-up game of Silva, a strategy Cerrone didn’t approve of when answering questions at the UFC Fan Expo.

Following the outburst, Cerrone, a former UFC lightweight title challenger issued a public apology on his Instagram account.

Cerrone stated: “Earlier today, I said something that was offensive & I’m truly sorry. I’ve got so many friends and fans in the LGBTQ community who I let down today. I can and will be better because I respect the community and equality matters!”
