UFC 200: Jim Miller dominates Takanori Gomi, earns first round TKO victory

Jim Miller finished Takanori Gomi early in round one to kick off UFC 200.

UFC 200 is being held tonight (July 9, 2016) at the T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada.

The event will be the first that the organization has hosted at T-Mobile Arena, which opened in April 2016. It takes place during the UFC’s annual International Fight Week and marks the second time the UFC has held host three events in consecutive days.

Jim Miller vs. Takanori Gomi took place on the preliminary card which aired on UFC Fight Pass

Gomi and Miller circled each other in early moments of the contest looking to find an opening on the feet, but it was only moments before the Japanese legend found himself on the mat with the BJJ black belt.  Miller secured his hooks before looking for a choke.  Eventually he settled on simply flattening Gomi out and landing hard shots from top position.  The referee finally halted the beating at 2:18 of the opening round.
