Last night Dana White announced that Jon Jones was pulled from his main event bout with Daniel Cormier for the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 200 due to a potential anti-doping violation.
The original main event for UFC 200 was scheduled to be headlined by a welterweight rematch between The Ultimate Fighter 5 winner and former lightweight title challenger Nate Diaz and current UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor.
However, the UFC pulled McGregor from the card for not fulfilling promotional duties leading up to the bout.
Following the news of Jones, McGregor’s coach Jon Kavanaugh tweeted “I wonder if there’s any regret taking him off the card over a press conference now?”
UFC President did not seem to take very nicely to the tweet, stating that the UFC had ‘zero’ regret pulling McGregor from the card.
