UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has been nominated for two awards at the ESPN’s 2016 ESPY Awards. McGregor has been nominated for ‘Breakthrough Athlete’ and ‘Best Fighter’. McGregor is coming off his first UFC loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 196 via second round submission. McGregor has the chance to get revenge as he is set to take on Diaz in a rematch at UFC 202 later this year.
UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler is also up for the ‘Best Fighter’ award. Robbie Lawler is coming off a five round war against Carlos Condit at UFC 195 in January. r, before eventually settling on a Tyron Woodley title defense at the upcoming UFC 201 pay-per-view (PPV)next month in Atlanta.
