Brock Lesnar is back!
The UFC announced during the UFC 199 broadcast that the former UFC heavyweight champion will return at UFC 200 in the co-main event against an opponent TBC.
UFC 200: Cormier vs. Jones 2 will be held on July 9, 2016 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Lesnar (5-3 MMA) has not competed in MMA since his TKO loss to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 in 2011. Lesnar won the UFC heavyweight title by defeating current champion Randy Couture at UFC 91 in November 15, 2008. He would go onto defend the title twice against Frank Mir at UFC 100 and Shane Carwin at UFC 116.
Speculation about a return to MMA lasted until March 24, 2015, when Lesnar announced in an interview on SportsCenter that he had re-signed with WWE and officially closed the door on a return to MMA, even though he was offered a deal “ten times more” than what he had made previously in his MMA career. He further elaborated that, while he was training for months for a return to the UFC, he felt “physically great but something was lacking mentally”.
With this announcement, UFC 200 now looks like this:
Daniel Cormier (c) vs. Jon Jones (ic)
Brock Lesnar vs. TBD

Miesha Tate (c) vs. Amanda Nunes
