Two former UFC heavyweight champions will collide at the UFC’s first event in Hamburg, Germany, as current No.6 ranked Andrei Arlovski faces No.9 ranked Josh Barnett in the five round main event on Saturday, September 3.
Tickets for this event are available now via Eventim.de.
Arlovski, born in Belarus, will be looking to edge ever closer to UFC gold with a win in Germany. Standing in his way will be Barnett, who holds notable wins over Mark Hunt and former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir.
Arlovski and Barnett, both legends of the sport, have racked up an incredible 80 professional mixed martial arts bouts between them, with a staggering 27 knockout wins. One thing can be sure that these athletes won’t be looking to go the distance on September 3.
UFC also announced today a light heavyweight match up between No.5 ranked Ryan Bader (21-5; fighting out of Tempe, Arizona, USA) and No.13 ranked Ilir Latifi (13-4, 1NC; fighting out of Stockholm, Sweden), who is coming off the biggest win of his career to date against current No.15 ranked Gian Villante earlier this year. The hot prospect will want to prove he belongs in the top of the rankings by claiming a forth straight win over Bader. This will be no easy feat however, with Bader recently accumulating wins over former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans and recent title contender Ovince Saint Preux.Check out our latest podcast episode featuring Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports.
