Demetrious Johnson vs. Wilson Reis set for co-main event of UFC 201

Demetrious Johnson has his next assignment at flyweight as the champion will look to defend his title against Wilson Reis in the co-main event of UFC 201.

UFC 201: Lawler vs. Woodley will be held on July 30, 2016 at Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. This will be the third that the organization has hosted in Atlanta, following UFC 88 in September of 2008 and UFC 145 in April of 2012.

The event will be headlined by a UFC Welterweight Championship bout between current champion Robbie Lawler and top contender Tyron Woodley.

Johnson (24-2-1 MMA) most recently defended his UFC flyweight title by destroying previously unbeaten Henry Cejudo in the co-main event of last month’s UFC 197 card.  ‘Mighty Mouse’ has now successfully defended his title eight times, the most of any current champion.  a record in the UFC. in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mighty Mouse has a 10-0-1 record at 125 lbs, and is a perfect 8-0 in defenses of his title. Assuming he wins this contest against Reis, his next defence will be on December 3rd at the TUF 24 Finale.

Reis (20-6 MMA) is coming off  impressive unanimous decision victory over Dustin Ortiz at UFC on FOX 18 however was defeated in the bout before that by Jussier Formiga at UFC Fight Night 67. Reis, is currently ranked #8 in the official UFC flyweight rankings.

With this addition to the card, UFC 201 currently looks like this:
