With an impressive stoppage win in the main event of CES MMA: Future Stars I at #CES35, Marquis Brewster was awarded a #CESMMA professional contract. On June 10, under the bright lights at Twin River Casino in #Lincoln, the #Providence fighter makes his highly anticipated professional #MMA debut against Vladimir Kazbekov.
While happy with his last performance, Brewster is focused on getting his first win as a pro.
“I’m ecstatic. I’ve put in years of work and now it’s time to showcase my talents on the pro level. I know it’s not going to be easy by any means, but this is what you do it for. You do it to test yourself against the best possible guys,” stated Brewster, a training partner and apprentice to CES MMA World Lightweight Champion, Luis Felix, who defends his title at CES MMA 36.
Kazbekov is coming to spoil Brewster’s coming-out party. The hard-nosed, Russian-born Canadian fighter, whose resume includes a standout 6-1 amateur career, isn’t concerned about Brewster’s distinct home-crowd advantage.
“He can have a million people behind him, but it’s just me and him in the cage,” said the stoic Kazbekov. “I’m used to fighting the hometown guy — it’s nothing new. His supporters are going to be pretty upset leaving the venue on June 10.”Check out our latest podcast episode featuring Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports.
