It is with sad news that I write this article, however Bellator fighter Jordan Parsons has lost his life.
Days after Parsons was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in Florida, the rising Blackzilian’s featherweight has passed away at the Delray Medical Center. Bellator MMA president Scott Coker released this statement on the tragic death of Parsons:
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a dear member of the Bellator family, Jordan Parsons. Jordan was an exceptional athlete and a rising star in the sport. But more importantly, he was an exceptional young man. Jordan was hard-working, dedicated, intelligent, and a pleasure to be around. He represented all the reasons we love this sport. It is a terribly tragic loss and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and teammates.”
The Delray Beach Police Department is still looking for the driver of a 2012 or 2013 Range Rover Sport with a missing driver’s side mirror. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact the Delray Beach PD at (561)-243-7800 or Palm Beach County Crimestoppers at (800)-458-8477.
Parsons (11-2) was scheduled to compete on next Saturday’s Bellator 154 main card against Adam Picolotti.
From all here at MMA Mad, RIP Jordan Parsons.
