The event is expected to be headlined by a UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship bout between current champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk and top contender Cláudia Gadelha. The pairing previously met at UFC on Fox: dos Santos vs. Miocic in December 2014, with Jędrzejczyk winning via split decision.
Matthews (10-1 MMA) has rebounded in solid fashion from his first loss in MMA to James Vick at UFC Fight Night 65. A TKO win over Akbarh Arreola at UFC 193 was followed by a submission win over Johnny Case at UFC Fight Night 85.
Ray (19-5 MMA) is has a perfect record since joining the UFC. The former Cage Warriors lightweight champion defeated Marcin Bandel in his UFC debut in Poland. His next UFC bout took place in his home country of Scotland where he would pick up a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus in a first round TKO win over Leonardo Mafra. His latest bout inside the octagon came against Mickael Lebout in Dublin, where Ray earned a unanimous decision win.
