The fight that was originally scheduled to headline UFC 200 will not take place officially per Dana White at the UFC 200 press conference.
UFC 200 will be held on July 9, 2016 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC president Dana White stated on Wednesday that if Conor McGregor were to pick up the phone and call him, the fight between the Dublin native and Nate Diaz would still headline UFC 200.
McGregor sent out a tweet on Tuesday afternoon stating that he was retiring from the sport of MMA, however on Thursday, McGregor made his first public statement since the tweet stating that his last three fights generated $400 million for the company and asked to have his promotional responsibilities eased for one fight, as he looked to rebound from his first UFC loss, to Diaz.
Following the announcement that Nate Diaz will not fight Conor McGregor at UFC 200, Nate Diaz suggested that he will now go on vacation as he only wants to stay on UFC 200 if the McGregor rematch happens.
