Surging featherweight Max Holloway is scheduled to meet a motivated Ricardo Lamas at UFC 199.
News broke on UFC Tonight that the 15-3 Hawaiian will return to action on June 4th to take on the 16-3 Chicago native.
Holloway, who last fought on December 12th against Jeremy Stephens, is currently riding an eight fight win streak, with six of those eight wins coming by stoppage. Currently ranked #4 at featherweight, Holloway has quickly established himself as a threat for the belt and will be looking to further solidify his position at UFC 199.
Standing in his way is #5 ranked Ricardo Lamas, a man who has already reached the top of the division back in 2014, when he took on Jose Aldo at UFC 169. Despite losing the fight via unanimous decision, Lamas showed flashes of brilliance, especially in the fourth round of the fight when he nearly finished Aldo on the feet.
Lamas has gone on to win three out of his next four fights, and will be looking to thrust his name into the title picture with a win over Max Holloway.
The fight adds even more excitement to an already loaded card, as UFC 199 will be headlined by a pair of title fights, with Luke Rockhold vs. Chris Weidman for the middleweight strap, as well as a trilogy fight between Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber, with the bantamweight championship on the line.
