The UFC has officially pulled Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor from the UFC 200 card. TMZ reported the news.
UFC 200 will be held on July 9, 2016 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC president Dana White stated yesterday that if Conor McGregor were to pick up the phone and call him, the fight between the Dublin native and Nate Diaz would still headline UFC 200.
McGregor sent out a tweet on Tuesday afternoon stating that he was retiring from the sport of MMA, however on Thursday, McGregor made his first public statement since the tweet stating that his last three fights generated $400 million for the company and asked to have his promotional responsibilities eased for one fight, as he looked to rebound from his first UFC loss, to Diaz.
