Cody East vs. Walt Harris added to UFC 197 in featured preliminary bout


A heavyweight bout between Cody East and Walt Harris has been announced for UFC 197 in the UFC Fight Pass preliminary card featured bout. The bout was announced on the most recent episode of Dana White: Looking for a Fight episode on UFC Fight Pass.

UFC 197: Jones vs. Saint Preux will be held on April 23, 2016 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

East (12-1 MMA) was featured on the most recent episode of Dana White: Lookin’ for a Fight on UFC Fight Pass, where White stated that is East were to win his fight, he would be signed to the promotion. East defeated Kevin Asplund on the show at Legacy FC 51 via TKO (head kick) to earn a shot with the UFC.

Harris (7-4 MMA) is currently 1-3 under the ZUFFA banner. A unanimous decision debut loss to Jared Rosholt was followed up by a TKO loss to Nikita Krylov. ‘Big Ticket’ was cut from the promotion and earned a TKO win over D.J. Linderman at Titan FC 28 . Recalled by the UFC to face Soa Palelei in Australia, Harris lost the bout via TKO in the second round.
