The headliner for UFC 200 is close to be being announced as its a non-title fight. The UFC is close to finalizing a welterweight rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz for the July 9 card, per MMAFighting.com.
Earlier this month at UFC 196, Diaz defeated McGregor via second-round rear-naked choke in the main event to give the ‘Notorious’ one his first defeat inside the octagon.
Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo have been actively pursuing the McGregor fight ever since the Diaz victory earlier this month, however the UFC seems to think that a fight against Nate Diaz is the best option.
UFC 200 will be held on July 9, 2016 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
If this announcement is true, UFC 200 currently looks like this:
Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz
Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne
Derek Brunson vs. Gegard Mousasi
