Providence’s Marquis Brewster and Salem’s Billy Keenan will clash in the main event of #CES35’s Futures Stars series on April 16 at the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, Mass.
The winner of the bout will get a pro contract with #CESMMA.
A former state champion wrestler, Brewster will have CES MMA fan-favorites Luis “Rockstar” Felix, Joe Pingitore and Nate Andrews in his corner. He’s proud of his teammates’ success, but he’s looking forward to stepping up to their level, starting on April 16.
“This opportunity that CES has given me is tremendous — I’m very grateful for it,” said Brewster, who’s won five of six fights. “I’ve seen what they’ve done for a lot of fighters, and I’m in a hurry to get involved with that. My teammates have had a lot of success with them, and they’ve helped get a bunch of guys to the UFC. This opportunity is something I’m very grateful, and very ready, for.”
But standing in Brewster’s way is Keenan, who brings an impressive 6-1 record to the proceedings.
“I’m expecting a war. I’ve seen my opponent throw bombs. But I’m not worried about him,” said Keenan. “This is too big of an opportunity for me to focus on my opponent. I’m just focused on what I can do to get this win and work my way up the ladder in CES.”Check out our latest podcast episode featuring Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports.
