CES MMA 34 Adds Two New Fights For April 1st Date at Foxwoods Casino

CES MMA 34 is set to take place on April 1st, live from the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT.

Two new fights have been added to the card, as Leon Davis (7-3)  is expected to meet LT Nelson (7-4) at lightweight, and Michael Maldonado (0-0) is set to make his pro debut against Massachusetts own George Nassar (1-0)

Davis holds a 7-3 record with a knockout and a submission to his name and is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Andres Jeudi at CES MMA 30. This will be his fifth time entering the CES cage, making his debut back in April of 2012. His resume includes one-off bouts with World Series of Fighting and Reality Fighting, as well.

His opponent on April 1st will be LT Nelson, a 7-4 knockout artist from Arvada, Colorado. He’ll be looking to rebound from a submission loss to Marcus Edwards back in November, and in all likelihood, his path to victory comes by stoppage, as Nelson has never gone the distance in victory.

Up and coming flyweight contenders Michael Maldonado and George Nassar, hailing from Connecticut and Massachusetts respectively, will be looking to earn a victory in their CES debut and further cement themselves as two of the region’s top prospects.

Ahead of their fight at CES MMA 34, Leon Davis and LT Nelson shared their thoughts on the bout:

Leon Davis:

My opponent is really dangerous standing up, but I’m looking to go in there, do my best and win convincingly so I can continue to move forward in my career. I’ve always prided myself on taking on the toughest fights available and this bout is no exception. I’m really looking forward to rising to the occasion.

LT Nelson:

I’m training hard and comfortable taking this fight wherever, but I’m definitely ready to stand with this dude, stuff his takedowns if there are any, and stop this fight on the feet. Fans can expect an explosive fight; they shouldn’t blink, because I’m coming in there to get the knockout and do it quickly.
