With Miesha Tate becoming the new UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion on Saturday night defeating Holly Holm via fifth found submission, speculation begins around who Tate’s first title defence will be against. Many felt that if Holly Holm would have been victorious on Saturday night in Las Vegas, her next title defence would not havce been against Ronda Rousey who has signalled she needs an extended period away from the sport following a KO loss to Holm at UFC 193.

However with Tate now the champion, a quicker return for Rousey may possibly be on the cards as Rousey holds two wins over the new champion. Rousey may not be the only top ranked fighter in the running for the next title shot if Cat Zingano has her way. Zingano holds a TKO win over Tate at the The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale earning both fighters ‘Fight of the Night’ honours. Check out Zingano’s plea to the UFC below.
