Fight Week is finally upon us.
In just a few days, I’ll be stepping into the cage, looking for my 20th win as a professional, against Keith Bell at CES MMA 33 at Twin River Casino, live on AXS TV.
For me — unlike most fighters in the sport — Fight Week is mostly about relaxing.
All the heavy lifting has been done and I’ve done everything I could possibly do to give myself the greatest possible chance of victory on Friday night.
I’ll do some running throughout the week, and sprinkle in some technical Brazilian jiu-jitsu drills and hit some pads, but Fight Week is designed to be very light for me.
In terms of my mindset, I’m ready. I replay the fight hundreds of times every day in my mind — Friday night will just be a continuation of that.
In the past, I’ve gotten nervous heading into my fights. But I’ve done this 25 times, so I now know what to expect.
I’m just ready and excited to step back into the cage. I had a fight right before the holidays and I’ve trained consistently since then. I haven’t stopped training, so it’s an awesome feeling to get back to action after such a long time.
