[BREAKING] Carlos Candelario and Luay Ashkar to Meet at CES MMA 34

CES MMA 34 is scheduled for April 1st, at Foxwoods Resort Casino and is to be headlined by a Welterweight Championship bout between Chris Curtis and Nah-Shon Burrell.

It was announced today that the card will also feature a battle of unbeatens as Carlos Candelario and Luay Ashkar are scheduled to meet at flyweight.

Candelario, with a combined amateur and professional record of 4-0, is fresh off a hard fought decision win over Jesse Gutierrez. The battle was named CES Fight of the Year in 2015, and Candelario will be looking to wow the fans yet again on April 1st.

Standing across from him will be Luay Ashkar, fellow 2-0 professional hailing from Syracuse, New York. Ashkar made his CES debut this January, where he knocked off Nick Laciofano via unanimous decision at CES MMA 32.

Both Candelario and Ashkar weighed in on their upcoming matchup at CES MMA 34:

Carlos Candelario:

I have a chip on my shoulder from my last CES MMA fight. It was a good fight — it was their Fight of the Year — but I like to finish fights. That’s what I’m known for, and that’s what I’m looking to do every time I step into the cage.

Luay Ashkar:

I’m actually getting to put in a whole training camp this time, so this kid better be ready for me when I’m coming. I’m not giving him any chance to attack me at all… I’ve had tough challenges in the past and I’ve overcome them all. I’m expeting a fight, but I’m also 100% expecting a win.
