[BREAKING] Kevin Haley and Steve Skrzat Set For Rematch at CES MMA XXXIV

CES MMA 34 is scheduled for April 1st, at Foxwoods Resort Casino and is to be headlined by a Welterweight Championship bout between Chris Curtis and Nah-Shon Burrell.

Kevin Haley, who returned to the win column at Bellator 144 following a three fight skid, is set to take on Steve Skrzat, who’s one three out of his last four fights, but has been sidelined since April of 2014.

The fight is a rematch of a June, 2013 encounter in which Skrzat was disqualified for illegal elbows to the back of the head. Needless to say, this left a sense of unfinished business in the minds of both men, each of which will be looking to win definitively at CES MMA 34.

Both Kevin Haley and Steve Skrzat shared their thoughts on the disqualification and the upcoming fight with CES MMA:

Kevin Haley:

Steve had been warned a couple times in the fight and he did it again, so the ref stopped the fight. I was dizzy from the elbows — he hit me twice with some strong elbows. As soon as I said I was dizzy, the ref stopped the fight. It was a good, back-and-forth fight before that.

I’m just excited to get out there and fight in front of thousands of fans. I’m not one to predict fights, but hopefully I catch him early. If not, I’m ready for a three-round war. Whatever it takes.

Steve Skrzat:

I might have hit him behind the ear very, very lightly and, at the worst, I thought he’d take a point, but he was fine. But the ref told him and said that if he couldn’t continue to fight. At that time, he fell against the cage, acted like he couldn’t see and literally took a dive. I feel like that was his easy opportunity to get the W. I think he saw that I won the first two rounds and he took the easy way out.

This fight won’t be going to the judges, I know that. He’s definitely athletic and strong. But I see myself finishing it early, whether that’s on the ground or standing up.
