Round 1:

Olivieri started the action out with some solid leg kicks that seemed to have an effect on Martin right from the start.  This went on for the first minute before Martin pushed the fight to the fence and lifted Olivieri for a double leg and took him to the mat.  Olivieri was up a few moments later, however.  Martin stuck with him and continued to press for a takedown.  The ref broke up the clinch around the 2:00 minute mark, allowing Olivieri to land another kick that momentarily stumbled Martin.  The ATT fighter went right back in for a takedown attempt after suffering the blow.  Olivieri worked his way out of the clinch, though, and went right back to the kicks.  He used a Muay Thai clinch to land some knees and then threw a high kick right before the bell sounded.

Round 2:

Unsurprisingly, Olivieri kept throwing the leg kicks to start the 2nd round.  He was even tripling them up, at this point.  Olivieri started sprinkling in some punches, too, but the kicks were still doing the majority of the damage.  Martin was finally able to open up with a combo at the 3:00 minute mark.  Still, he had no answer for Olivieri’s kicks.  He was landing good punches, at least.  Martin opened up a cut on the left side of the Brazilian’s head with good combos.  The overhand right was beginning to land well for Martin.  Martin stunned Olivieri in the final minute of the round and looked to be close to a finish, but Olivieri clinched in desperation and made it to the bell.

Round 3:

Martin seemed to have the momentum going into the final round and wanted to connect with punches early, but Olivieri once again started landing nasty leg kicks while sprinkling in punches. he also landed a hard body kick to Martin’s midsection. Martin shot for a takedown, but ended up in the clinch.  He was able to land a trip, though, and found himself in half-guard.  Olivieri gave up his back.  Martin secured a hook, grabbed Olivieri’s neck for a rear naked choke and cranked, putting his opponent out!
