Round 1:

Kevin Casey has a history of some whacky outcomes in fights. Let’s hope this one is a nice clean fight. Casey lands early and Natal responds with a takedown attempt. Stuffed. The rest of the round plays out just the same. More solid combinations from Casey. More failed takedown attempts from Natal.

Then, in the closing moments of the round, Casey really started to pour it on with a big combo. But out of nowhere, Natal lands a powerful counter hook that flattens Kevin Casey. The time runs out and Casey is very literally saved by the bell. But the knockdown likely wins the round for Natal.

MMA Mad scores the first round 10-9 Casey.

Round 2:

Kevin Casey does not look to be fully recovered. A low blow from Natal gives him some bonus time, but before long, Natal drops Casey again. Things turn towards grappling, with Natal in control on the mat. This may actually benefit Casey who looks to be wobbly on his feet, but it’s certainly not scoring him any points with the judges.

Back to the feet, then back to the mat again. Natal finishes with some heavy ground and pound and is fully in control of the action through two.

MMA Mad scores the second round 10-9 Casey (20-18 Casey).

Round 3:

Natal is being very deliberate with his shots, landing when he throws but not throwing very often. Both guys seem to have slowed down a lot as this one has gone on though. Natal lands yet another take down and Casey is really slowing a lot of holes in his ground game. Natal easily transitions to full mount and pours on the ground-and-pound until the ref steps in.

Official Result: Rafael Natal def. Kevin Casey via TKO (Rd.3, 3:37)
